We officially have a $100,000 campaign! Absolutely crazy. You have really showed out in the support of this important project, and Scott and I, and especially Jason's mom, can't thank you enough. And passing the $100k mark, which I honestly just couldn't wrap my head around when we initially launched this campaign, means more Stretch Goals-- so here we go:
$105k: 4 more pages added to the BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition (244 total pages— we are officially maxed out!) + everyone gets a copy of the Body Bags soundtrack By Scott Thrill (this will be an MP3 audio file DOWNLOAD, free to all backers of the campaign). A side note on the soundtrack, if you watch the campaign video you will hear my favorite track from Scott. This is a soundtrack that Jason supported and CD's were even sold by Jason and Scott at San Diego Comic-Con back in the day.
$110k: Spot-UV added to the LOCKED & LOADED Sketchbook cover.
$115k: 16 pages added to LOCKED & LOADED Sketchbook (80 total pages).
$120k: 12-Gauge Digital COMIC BOOK sampler (the PDF will include 2 short stories drawn by Jason Pearson & a GALLERY of all his 12-GAUGE covers. 100 pages minimum, FREE to all backers). I'm still curating the list of comics, but it will include both issues of THE RIDE that Jason illustrated, as well as every cover he did for me over the years. This book will be the equivalent of a full graphic novel in page count.
$125k: TBD
The campaign ends Thursday afternoon, so keep helping us spread the word.
Thank you all for the continued support!

Hi everyone! What a run since the last update. We are now over $90k and climbing. Here's the latest on stretch goals that have been unlocked and what's coming next:
$60k UNLOCKED: 8 Pages added to BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition (208 Total Pages)
$65k UNLOCKED: 10 Pages added to the Artist’s Edition+ Digital Edition
$70k UNLOCKED: 8 Pages added to the BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition (216 Total Pages)
$75k UNLOCKED: Spot-UV added to the BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition cover
$80k UNLOCKED: 8 Pages added to BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition (224 Total Pages) / 10 Pages added to the LOCKED & LOADED Digital Edition
$85k UNLOCKED: Artist's Edition sized bookmarks (4" x 16") added to all backers of the Hardcover
$90k UNLOCKED: 8 Pages added to the BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition (232 Total Pages)
The final 2 stretch goals are $95k (Spot-UV varnish added to the cover of the Artist's Edition+ book) and $100k, where we will add 8 pages to the Artist’s Edition (bringing it to 240 Total Pages) and 16 pages to the Artist's Edition+ book, bringing it to a whopping 80 pages!
Both those goals are very attainable, which honestly blows my mind. So, I guess we need to start up with some new ideas for stretch goals! If you have something cool in mind, hit us up in the comments section.
Please continue to help us spread the word by liking and sharing our page on social media. You can also follow us at @12gaugecomics on Instagram & Twitter/X and on Facebook. Also, you can find Act 4 at @act4_publishing on Instagram and @Act4Publishing on Twitter/X.
And I always like to share a cool project that's currently running on Kickstarter, and this one is really unique. It hails from some good friends of 12-Gauge, including Eben Matthews, who ran all of our design for a long time, brought The Boondock Saints license to 12G, and is just a generally awesome guy. Adam Martin is pretty OK too, if you can get past that dang British accent (I kid!). Here's some info on their fully-funded campaign:
Our friends at Macroverse are bringing back some of the most legendary and controversial horror comics from the Golden Age in their Pre-Code Horror Facsimile Collection! These are meticulously crafted, high-quality reproductions of rare comics that shook the industry in the 1950s—so intense and boundary-pushing that they helped create the Comics Code Authority. This is a must-have for horror and comic history fans alike, and it’s already becoming one of Kickstarter’s standout projects!
What You Need to Know About Pre-Code Horror Authentic Editions:
• A Return to Horror’s Golden Age: This collection revives 15 iconic horror comics from the Pre-Code era, featuring stories and art that defined horror comics before industry censorship.
• Unparalleled Craftsmanship: Each issue is painstakingly restored with high-quality printing on vintage-style paper, capturing every detail of the original works—from eerie cover art to the spine-chilling stories inside.
• Limited Collector’s Editions: The collection includes several exclusive sets, some nearly sold out, and a series of collectible trading cards featuring famous horror covers for backers at specific tiers.
• Final Two Weeks to Back the Campaign!: With only 14 days left, now is the time to join this project and secure your set. This collection offers a rare chance to own a piece of comic history in an authentic, display-worthy format.
Why Pre-Code Horror Matters: These comics didn’t just push boundaries—they shattered them. With themes of terror, transformation, and paranoia, these stories reflected societal fears of the 1950s and changed the industry forever. Authentic Editions are obsessed with preserving this critical part of comic history for fans and collectors alike.

So cool that I just had to back it myself. That's all for now. I'll be back with another update in a few days.
Thanks!

Stretch Goals and more

Wow. It feels like every time I check the ticker we've unlocked another Stretch Goal! In case you haven't been following it closely, here's where we currently stand:
$60k UNLOCKED: 8 Pages added to BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition (208 Total Pages)
$65k UNLOCKED: 10 Pages added to the Artist’s Edition+ Digital Edition
$70k UNLOCKED: 8 Pages added to the BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition (216 Total Pages)
$75k UNLOCKED: Spot-UV added to the BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition cover
Next up is a double stretch goal -- $80k will add 8 more pages to the BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition (bringing the total to 224 Total Pages) and 10 pages will be added to the digital edition of the LOCKED & LOADED Sketchbook. All I can say is a big 'thanks' for all the support so far, and just keep doing what you're doing. Every time someone likes and/or shares the project on social media, the better our chances are at getting this book all the way up to 240 pages.
On another note, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Michael Fitzgerald Troy (a proud backer of this campaign and the 2015 campaign) for his podcast the other day. He was a friend of Jason's and we had a great conversation about this campaign and the talented guy we both miss. Please give it a listen:
Finally, I'd like to give a plug to a really cool Kickstarter from artist Todd Blackwood. Todd was a good friend of Jason's and a hell of an artist in his own right, and last week he launched his first crowdfunding campaign for Nosferatu: The Graphic Novel, which is his adaptation of the classic film. Please check out Todd's campaign by clicking on the image below:
Until next time!

Stretch Goals + the Graphic Samurai!

Hi everyone! We just hit $60k and I know many of you are wondering about stretch goals, so here we go!
A quick note on printing: as you add pages to a book, printers go in increments of 8 pages at a time. With that in mind, the first stretch goal has been met, and we're adding 8 pages to the Artist's Edition-- now at 208 total pages of beautiful BODY BAGS art! We expect this to be the first of many more pages added to the book, but we will continue to need your help. We're entering into the part of a campaign where it's hard to get anyone's attention, so if you can copy the link below and share it on Facebook or X/twitter, that would be a huge help. Every like, share, post, or repost helps, and is greatly appreciated:
Also, if you were a 2015 backer that sent an email about claiming your credit, you should have your reply from me about next steps. The response has been a little overwhelming (in a good way), but the initial rush of emails has slowed, and I've finally caught up and will now be getting back to everyone in a much more timely fashion. If you did not get a reply, please let me know by emailing me at [email protected] or messaging me here.
Finally, I'd like to share the news about a Kickstarter campaign I was thrilled to back myself as soon as it launched last week:
GRAPHIC SAMURAI: THE ART OF DENYS COWAN!
I've been a fan of Denys Cowan for a very long time. He's a legend in this industry, pure and simple, and I can't wait to get this book! Here's a little info on the campaign for his artbook, with a link to this Kickstarter below.
"Graphic Samurai: The Art of Denys Cowan" is the first comprehensive celebration of the work of this groundbreaking comic book artist. Batman, The Question, Black Panther, and Deathlok are just a few of the iconic characters that he's put his stamp on while also creating his own beloved comic universe, Milestone, featuring Hardware, Icon & Rocket, and the comic that inspired the hit television show, Static Shock. Inkpot Award-winning artist Denys Cowan walks you through his life and career in his own words and via hundreds of unforgettable illustrations in color and black and white.
FUNDED!

THANK YOU! We are thrilled to have hit our funding goal so quickly, and really can't thank you enough. This is book is going to be an amazing tribute to Jason and it never happens without all of you wanting to make it happen.
Scott is currently working hard on the final pagination of the book, and we'll have more info on stretch goals once the page count is settled and we know exactly how many pages we need to add as we expand the book to include more material.
A quick note to all of the backers from the 2015 campaign; I'm about halfway through the emails from everyone that has reached out wanting to use their credit, and am just answering them in the order they have come in. I will admit that it's taking me a good bit more time to respond to everyone than I'd anticipated, but I made good progress today and will get back on it in the morning.
I also want to thank everyone for all the kind words you've passed along in your emails and messages. I always knew Jason had some passionate and loyal fans, but I don't think I quite comprehended the depth of how much his art touched people from all over the world. It's been great to see.
Finally, please help us spread the word on social media. We want to add pages to the book and do certain upgrades (like potential spot-uv on the cover of the Artist's Edition) and other special items to enhance your experience, so the more backers the better.
Speaking of pages, here's a few Scott shared when we were on the Near Mint Condition live stream Tuesday that I thought y'all might like to see. Thank you again for the amazing support!
