Latest Updates from Our Project:

End of the week Shipping Update
4 months ago – Fri, Dec 19, 2025 at 12:15:18 PM

I just got an update from our fulfillment partner, and I'm happy to report that over half of the orders will be shipped by the end of the day today (Friday, Dec 19th). If everything goes according to plan, all US orders should be out the door by the end of next week. I'll keep everyone posted as things progress, but it's great to see these books moving in your direction. Regarding tracking numbers, those will be emailing to you as your package is scanned for pick-up (either FedEx or UPS depending on your region). Look for the tracking email to come from our fulfillment partner, Stuart Ng Books (not Backerkit or Kickstarter).

I'd also like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to Stuart and all the fine folks at Stuart Ng Books in Torrance, CA for doing such a great job getting these books out to everyone. Many of you may be familiar with Stuart's store, as it specializes in twentieth-century illustration, animation & comic art books (they have both a stellar online store and brick and mortar store). Stuart and his team have years of experience shipping to their customers and were kind enough to help us get your packages out in a safe and timely fashion. If you are looking for a last minute gift or just something cool for your bookshelf, check out their web store, or if you're in the area, make sure to browse their awesome store in person:

*** A quick edit to the update-- Stuart just let you know that if you don't have a tracking number yet and are in the LA area and want to pick up your order in person, contact the store and let them know.

Thanks, everyone!

Digital Downloads are LIVE
4 months ago – Thu, Dec 11, 2025 at 06:49:47 PM

Two quick notes on your rewards before we dive into the Digital news: the books and cards have been picked up from the port in Los Angeles and are in-route to our fulfillment partner (scheduled to deliver to them on Monday). I'll have more news for you on that front soon, but orders should start moving via UPS next week.

A note for our Canadian backers: I've had two people in Canada reach out, asking for us to hold their shipments until the first week of January due to concerns over couriers and fees. Apparently, sometimes couriers taking advantage of customers during the holiday season, charging much higher duty fees on packages than the rest of the year. I can't really confirm this, but at the moment I'd rather err on the side of caution and just hold the shipments going to Canada until the 1st week of January. If you do not want your shipment held, shoot me a message and let me know.

Now to the Digital downloads that just went live on Backerkit!

For everyone who ordered the BODY BAGS Digital Comic Book Set, and/or the digital version of the LOCKED & LOADED Sketchbook, those are now available to download (as well as the PDF of the ARTIST'S EDITION+ if you ordered the physical copy of that book).

Also available to all backers are the items below that were part of the stretch goal rewards:

12-GAUGE DIGITAL COMIC BOOK SAMPLER

The 12-GAUGE DIGITAL SAMPLER includes a Jason Pearson short story from the first THE RIDE mini-series. You’ll also see a few of his covers to other issues of THE RIDE following that story, as well as his amazing covers from our Dark Horse Comics series, KILL WHITEY DONOVAN.

Pages 1 – 60: THE RIDE (issues #1 & #2)
The first books ever produced by 12-Gauge, all the way back in 2004. Featuring a story by Doug Wagner and art from Cully Hamner, Brian Stelfreeze, Georges Jeanty + Dexter Vines, and Jason Pearson, with covers by Adam Hughes. One note is that Jason’s father passed away right before he began drawing his part of the story, and you can feel the raw emotion he was channeling as he worked through those pages.

Pages 61 – 87: LOOSE ENDS #1
No pages or covers from Jason here, but it was a comic that really impressed him when it was released and everyone should check it out. Chris Brunner & Rico Renzi simply showed out when creating the pages of this gritty crime story-- a fantastic comic written by Jason Latour (pre-SOUTHERN BASTARDS, if you are familiar with that excellent series that Jason co-created with Jason Aaron).

Pages 88 – 122: KILL WHITEY DONOVAN #1
Issue #1 of that limited series is included, as well as sections of the trade featuring Jason's art. You'll see the pages of the trade where his art was used as design elements, as well as the gallery featuring his amazing covers.

Pages 123 – 128: BODY BAGS: Threebies #1 & #2
Just to close this out with some Body Bags goodness, I dropped in the first two online shorts Jason did when he was gearing up to do more Mack & Panda stories back in 2015. These are a lot of fun and the full collection of these shorts are included in the ARTIST'S EDITION+ book.

Now let's talk about the music!

BODY BAGS: THE SOUNDTRACK

Scott ThrILL, one of Jason Pearson’s friends, had previously produced this soundtrack years ago. The playlist features music from popular rappers and hip-hop artists, but many of the songs were remixed, and it also includes skits/interludes featuring original audio from voice actors playing various characters in the city of Terminus (you will even hear Jason in one of the clips). Scott put a ton of work into this and it shows, and he was kind enough to provide this mix for everyone to enjoy. As far as downloading the package, here’s what you’ll be able to grab in your Backerit Download box:

A single file mp3 of the soundtrack, a jpeg of the full CD artwork (front and back—and yes, there was physical CD that Jason and Scott sold at SDCC one year), a cropped image of the front cover for loading into iTunes, a PDF of the Tracklist with timestamps for each song, and a TextEdit file with the same info.

I’m no tech expert, but was able to easily load the mp3 file into iTunes on my MacBook, and immediately synch it to my iPhone (hopefully Android devices will be able to do this as well). Also, if you have an iPhone, you can click the Lyrics tab when playing the music and the timestamps and titles will appear in place of the lyrics.

Finally, here’s a link if you want to check out some more from our man Scott thrILL, with the cover art below:

The Books Have Cleared Customs!
4 months ago – Tue, Dec 09, 2025 at 09:06:05 PM

Great news-- the books and all other items have cleared customs! Yea!!!

They are scheduled to be picked up by our freight carrier Wednesday, December 10th and should deliver to our fulfillment partner no later than Monday.

With that in mind, we will be locking addresses in Backerkit 48 hours from posting this update. Look for an email from Backerkit with a link where you make any necessary changes to your address (the link below will take you to Backerkit as well). So, if you've moved since completing your survey, change it to your new address immediately.

To be clear, if you have not completed your survey, YOUR BOOKS WILL NOT SHIP because we don't know where to send them. We still have 50 backers who have not yet given us an address, so if you are one of those 50, please get that done immediately so we can get your book and/or other rewards headed your way (link below).

Also, digital rewards will be going live this week. Backerkit will be hosting the files, so you will need to access your account to download them (we'll send a Kickstarter update when the digital rewards are live).

I think that's it for now. More updates to follow soon, so be on the lookout.

Thank you all!

GREAT NEWS-- Books Arrive This Week! WE NEED YOUR ADDRESS!!!!
4 months ago – Mon, Dec 01, 2025 at 07:43:46 AM

As we head towards the holiday season, it's great to finally share the news that the books will be hitting the port in Los Angeles December 3rd. It will take a few days to clear customs and then the books will head straight to our fulfillment center.

With that in mind, we have 55 people that have NOT yet completed their survey, so we can't send those 55 people their rewards.

If you are 1 of those 55, PLEASE take a second to enter your address for us at the link below:

It's very easy to do-- if you don't have a Backerkit account, just use the email associated with your Kickstarter account to register, confirm your order, and enter your delivery address. That's it. It's super fast and super easy, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do this immediately.

I'll have more updates to come as the process moves along.

Thank you all!

Printing + Shipping update
5 months ago – Mon, Oct 27, 2025 at 08:40:26 PM

Happy Spooky Season everyone!  I'm back with some info on the printing and shipping, so let's jump right in--

During the approval process we found one page with a printing error, so that page had to be reprinted before the books were bound. Although it had to be done and delayed us a week or so, I'm happy to report that binding is now complete and books are currently being packaged to leave the printer and head to the port in China. As of today the shipment is expected to arrive in the US the week of Thanksgiving, with books shipping out in mid-December. The estimated dates from the printer are below:

Date                    Status

10/27~10/31:  Final printed copies to be sent out from the plant / shipment to Port of China

11/03~11/07:  Departure from Port of China

11/24~11/27:  Arrival at Long Beach, CA Port

12/08~12/12:  Delivery at Fulfillment center/location

12/15~12/19:  Start of sending out the packages to the backers

We are still hoping everyone will have their books before the end of December, and if we have no more delays that can still be the case for most everyone (at least in North America). Hopefully all the dates above will hold, but these are just estimates and things can always shift for a multitude of reasons beyond our control. Regardless, the fact that everything is about to head to the port and begin the journey across the ocean is fantastic news.

Now to close things out with a bang, let's take a nice look at the ARTIST'S EDITION+ (the whopping 88-page, 8" x 12" perfect bound book):
